The War Tank Library (Arma De Instruccion Masiva) -- Argentina, South America:
The Weapon of Mass Instruction is a project developed by Argentinian artist Raul Lemesoff. Lemesoff modified a 1979 Ford Falcon (a vehicle once used in Argentina during war time) into a tank. The vehicle is able to transport more than 2,500 books. Raul gives away free books with the help of book donations. The project is self sustained and has no other funding besides book donations. The Weapon of Mass Instruction travels across the county to low resource schools, slums and rural settlements. "The weapon of mass instruction is a peace tank, a symbol of protest against the weapons of mass destruction. It promotes the interaction between different cultures and social strata, narrowing the gap between the, raising awareness of the dissimilar social conditions and eventually promoting a peaceful coexistence" (Weapon of Mass Instruction, 2016). Lemesoff hopes to use the Weapon of Mass instruction to "battle ignorance and spread knowledge".
